Roofing Systems

Built Up Roof Systems

Built up roofing is perfect for low-slope roofs and there are many types to choose from.

Built Up Roof Systems Details

The bitumen generally used in a built up roof system is coal tar, asphalt, or cold-applied adhesive. The coal tar or asphalt is heated in a kettle or tanker and then applied by mop or mechanical spreader.

Benefits of Built Up Roofing Systems include excellent waterproofing protection, ultra-violet protection, low cost maintenance for the life of the roof, and it stands up to tough weather conditions.

Modified Bitumen

Perfect for flat or low-slope roofs, modified bitumen or polymer-modified bitumen sheet membranes are a good option when you need a roof that will hold up for many years.

Modified Bitumen Details

The modified bitumen membrane sheeting is the main component of the roofing system, and it is forged of multiple layers of material containing polyester, fiberglass or a combination of both. Thermal resistance is provided by the insulation layer, that inhibitsDurability and the movement of heat passing between the roofing structure. Durability and strength are provided by the built up layers of modified bitumen.

Single Ply

Single-ply roofing membranes are factory-manufactured sheet membranes.

Single Ply Details

They are commonly identified as either thermoplastic or thermoset. Thermoplastic materials can be repeatedly softened when heated and hardened when cooled. Thermoset materials stiffen, or “set,” permanently after heating.

Metal Roofing Systems

There are three categories of metal roof systems: architectural metal panel, structural metal panel and metal shingle/shingle panels.

Metal Roofing Systems Details

Structural metal panel roof systems are used on low and steep slope roofs. Because architectural metal panel roof systems typically are designed to be used on steep slopes that will shed water rapidly over the panel surface, the seams are not traditionally watertight.

Tapered Insulated Systems

Tapered insulation systems help cut rooftop waste and provide excellent insulation while minimizing ponding water.

Tapered Insulated Systems Details

Using a tapered insulation system will direct water away from common areas and serve its intended goal, which is to provide adequate drainage and insulation to dead-level roof decks.

Day Lighting & Sky Lights

Day lighting, also commonly referred to as sky lights, is a structure that allows light on the roof to travel to the interior of a building.

Day Lighting & Sky Lights Details

Skylights are particularly useful in spaces that do not receive much natural daylight, you can also provide optimal distribution while minimizing glare and enhancing your architectural design.

Green Roofs

Green roof membranes, also known as cool roof systems or garden roofs, are completely or partially covered with vegetation made possible by a growing medium over a waterproofing membrane.

Green Roofs Details

Green roofs may also include additional layers such as a root barrier and drainage, plus irrigation systems.

There are two types of green roofs: intensive roofs, which are thicker, and can support a wider variety of plants, but are heavier and require more maintenance, and extensive roofs, which are shallow, lighter and require minimal maintenance.

Lightweight Insulated Concrete

Lightweight insulated concrete roof systems utilize fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic membranes adhered to lightweight insulated concrete.

Lightweight Insulated Concrete Details

LWIC is a mixture of cement, water and preformed foam. The characteristics of LWIC make it an excellent substrate for adhering felt back membrane, resulting in a roofing system with high-wind performance characteristics.

Commercial Shingles

The most common solution for steep-sloped roofs is commercial shingles.

Commercial Shingles Details

Asphalt shingles are known for their affordable cost and ease of application that also accounts for their wide usage. Commercial shingles are weather-resistant, provide protection from impact and UV degradation and fire resistance.

With energy-efficiency becoming more and more relevant to a businesses bottom-line, demand for natural sources of energy has increased.

Solar Details

Solar power is an effective way to turn non-depreciating roof space into an energy creating solution. Solar roofing systems can reduce energy consumption costs, reduce reliance on the utility grid, and deliver a timely return on investment.
